As Prairie Central Line Supply’s Alberta based Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for developing relationships and interacting with electrical utility corporations & contractors to increase our brand and grow our customer first business model. Your focus will be in-person selling and account management activities for our customer’s service & material requirements. To ensure our model and plan exceeds our customer’s requirements, you will be expected to engage with all levels of the customers’ organizations including owners, engineering, operations, construction, supply chain and executive management. You will be required to develop and deliver sales bids, presentations, proposals, and/or product demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Develop a customer first plan to expand our brand and business throughout Alberta & British Columbia Electrical Utility market.

• Develop, maintain & obtain revenue plan for Alberta & British Columbia utility market segments. Provincial and municipal utilities, utility contractors, capital project, and renewable generation.  

• Understand & Integrate customer’s contractual agreements, material requirements/approval, and opportunities to assist in strengthening their business.

• Demonstrate the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.

• Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolve any issues that may arise throughout our customer engagement process.

• Develop strong relationships with suppliers. Understand their goals related to our market. Develop plan to facilitate including performing regular joint sales calls.

• Engage customers bid platforms. Identify opportunities and develop responses with internal team and suppliers.

• Provide quotations directly or in conjunction with sales support team.

 

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent required; bachelor’s business degree is preferred

• 5+ years electrical utility or electrical sales experience required, outside sales preferred

• Ability to travel throughout North America

• Ability to travel 50-75% of the time

• Ability to work flexible schedule and accommodate overnight travel

• Valid driver’s license.

• Valid Canadian passport

• Excellent sales and negotiation skills

• Ability to develop and deliver presentations

• Strong people skills

• Effective communicator both written and verbally

• Ability to work in team environment

• ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and micromanaging.

• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills

• Strong analytical skills and ability to act on information.

• Knowledge and ability to navigate & populate various bids platforms

• Strong organization & planning skills

Outside Sales – Work is performed “on the road” customer facing appointments and engagements. Travel to customer sites or warehouse facilities is required.  Driving will be required for an extended period of time with frequent stops and starts.  Can be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Your “in office” time will be utilized communicating updates with team, next steps/actions, organizing, prioritizing & executing with your developed plan.
